Each food processor in the industry must ensure safe biosecurity within their food plants and products.

Dairy

According to the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations: Globally, dairy production, with 850 billion litres of milk valued at USD350bn is the top agricultural commodity in value terms, with 83% produced by cows, followed by buffalo (13%), goats and sheep. The sector is growing fast, with production and consumption expected to average 1.8% per annum over the next 10 years, with significant impacts on the environment, livelihood and public health.

Pig

Pig and poultry sectors have a common requirement in terms of hygiene in the production process. Traditional methods require significant water consumption, which can be eliminated through the use of the proven Lir product range for this purpose. Already Lir have a customer base of eighteen pig farms which continues to grow, given the benefits of the products targeting this sector. Trials show that each pig farm that adopts the Lir range has the potential to save 1 million litres of water annually.
